The next installment of fantasy author Brandon Sanderson’s wildly popular Stormlight Archive series, tentatively titled The Rhythm of War (if that doesn’t give you goosebumps I don’t know what will), may have a release date.

Sanderson dropped by the Stormlight Archive subreddit to announce the book is passed the 50% completion mark.

“I’m still hoping for a Christmas 2020 release.” he added.

Throughout the years, Sanderson has become well-known in the fantasy community for his impressive knack at worldbuilding and deep magic systems. He often keeps fans up to date with his progress, even going so far as posting a bar chart of his progression on social media.

The Stormlight Archive series has proven to be one of Sanderson’s most popular. A trilogy of films based on the novels is currently in the initial stages of development.

Sanderson is also known for other popular novel series, such as Mistborn, The Reckoners, and Rithmatist, to name a few. All of his books take place in sprawling universe called “the cosmere”, with many easters eggs and cameos from his separate series making appearances in each other for fans to find, not too dissimilar from Marvel’s cinematic universe, except in book form and perhaps much more expansive.
