Crash Bandicoot Is Coming To A Mobile Device Near You

Get ready to grab some Wumpa fruit, because everyone’s favorite bandicoot is spinning onto mobile devices this year!

Following a soft launch, Crash Bandicoot: On The Run! will be available on iOS and Android this year. While not official release date has been announced, it will probably launch before the October 2nd release of Crash 4: It’s About Time on PS4 and XBox One.

The app is being developed by King, the Activision Blizzard subsidiary behind mobile hits like the Candy Crush Saga.

Crash Bandicoot: On The Run! is coming to iOS and Android soon.

How Do I Pre-Register?

You can officially pre-register for On The Run! thought the Google Play Store on Android smartphones and tablets, with iOS pre-registration for iPhone coming soon.

Players who pre-register will receive the Blue Hyena Skin from Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled upon launch.

What Kind Of Game Is Crash: On The Run?

Crash Bandicoot: On The Run! is described as an “endless runner” similar to other mobile titles such as Temple Run, Subway Surfers, and Sonic Dash. It will likely be a free-to-play title with micro-transactions baked in to purchase aesthetic options like skins and, items, and upgrades.

Its levels are expected to themed on classic Crash locations like Temple Ruins, Bear It, Turtle Woods, and more.

The Blue Hyena skin will be exclusively available at launch to users who pre-register Crash On The Run!

Who Are The Playable Characters?

Based on the trailer, it looks like both Crash and Coco Bandicoot (and Aku Aku tagging along) will be fully customizable base characters with the evil Dr. Neo Cortex serving as the villain once again.

Boss battles will include returning baddies like Nitrus Brio, Scorporilla, Nina Cortex and Dingodile.

While others playable characters haven’t been confirmed yet, it’s likely that Crash veterans such as Tiny Tiger, Polar, and Crunch will be unlockable.

The game will feature a crafting system for weapons. And Crash’s trademark spin and jump will return.

And yes, multiplayer options will also be available so you can play with friends.
