Kirby’s Banjo-Kazooie Form is Everything You Ever Wanted and More

When Banjo-Kazooie was first announced as a fighter in the wildly popular Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Nintendo Switch, I know exactly what you were all thinking: what does this mean for Kirby?

Okay, so maybe none of you were thinking that. But I’m sure some of you at least wondered what Kirby’s Banjo-Kazooie form would look like. With the release of the Banjo and Kazooie fighter DLC, we finally have our answer.

When you first take on the new form, you could be forgiven for not noticing any change at all from the front unless you looked closely. If you squint, you can see Kirby sporting Banjo’s trademark necklace. Well, maybe it’s not exactly his trademark, that award would probably go to Banjo’s shorts. But Kirby doesn’t have legs (thankfully), so shorts are out of the question. The necklace will have to do. If you turn Kirby around, you’ll notice he’s wearing a backpack identical to Banjo’s.

The fun part comes when you press the basic attack button and whip out a Kazooie of your own. That’s right, Kirby gets his own Kazooie. How are there two Kazooies on the screen at the same time? Who cares. You don’t have time to rationalize the philosophical implications when you’re blasting eggs away at everyone who wronged you.

Kirby can even carry the angry avian around. Heck, he can even jump with as he chases after foes! Masahiro Sakurai, you are truly a man among men for including this feature.

As per the latest Nintendo Direct, we know Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has even more fighters planned for the future. But it’s going to be hard topping Kirby-Kazooie.
