It’s official, Kirby has a new game on the Nintendo Switch and it is available now.
Before any official announcements, Kirby Fighters 2 was suddenly listed on a Nintendo site before mysteriously being immediately delisted. But now, Nintendo just dropped an official trailer for the multiplayer game, and has confirmed that the game is now available for purchase on the eShop for only $19.99 USD.
Players can fight against up to three friends in either local or online multiplayer. Just as in the previous Kirby Fighters Deluxe on 3DS, you can play as one of 17 different Kirbys, each with their own special ability (including a new Wrestler ability), along with other classic characters like King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee, Magolor, and Meta Knight.
That means there are a total of 22 playable characters if you count each Kirby ability separately. Kirby Star Allies and Kirby Clash players will automatically receive a rare hat in Kirby Fighters 2.
There’s also a story mode which you can play in co-op with a friend. For those looking for a bigger challenge with a higher difficulty level, the game also features a “Single-Handed Mode” where you’ll go solo to face off against nine increasingly tough opponents in battle.
