Although Jurassic World: Dominion will not be released in theaters this summer as originally expected, there will still be plenty of dinosaur content to tide you over during the summer months. Netflix’s animated Camp Cretaceous series will return for a third season on Friday, May 21 — less than a year after the first season aired last fall.

The announcement of a third installment was soon followed by a brief trailer that teases the birth of a new hybrid dinosaur in the vein of the Indoraptor and Indominus Rex.

“[Camp Cretaceous is] part of the larger story we’re telling, it’s not just some extra thing that we did,” Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow said at the New York Comic Con last year. “It’s something that we really care about it’s part of our whole world.”

He added that the show’s production crew knows key points of Dominion‘s plot, and hinted at the possibility of characters from the Camp Cretaceous potentially making cameo appearances in the upcoming Jurassic World film.

Jurassic World: Dominion roars into cinemas June 10, 2022.
