He loves you 3,000 and he’s going live in 4… 3… 2… 1…

That’s right, Robert Downey Jr. is set to appear on Joe Rogan’s popular podcast next week, The Joe Rogan Experience. The Iron Man star has apparently already taped his interview with the comedian, as Joe Rogan took to social media to post pictures of Downey in studio with his dog Marshall.

If Rogan’s post is any indication, the episode looks like part of the Avengers alumni’s publicity tour for his upcoming film Dr. Dolittle, in which he takes on the role of the titular character.

Rogan’s podcast has always had a devout following, but has recently become even more well-known for attracting a wide variety of guests that includes Dr. Phil, Jordan Peterson, Bernie Sanders, Ben Shapiro, Alex Jones, Charlamagne, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and Elon Musk just to name a few.

Downey will likely feel at home in the mostly casual JRE setting. He famously walked out of an interview with provocative reporter Krishnan Guru-Murthy in 2015. Guru-Murphy brashly asked several questions related to Downey’s personal life which rubbed the star the wrong way.

Guru-Murthy has a history of offending interviewees as he also irritated director Quentin Tarantino with combative questions in a separate interview.

Rogan may be able to get Downey to open up more about his past as he is generally more tactful in his interview style. We’ll find out when the podcast airs next week!

  1. I don’t think they used tape to record the interview. I’m sure it has to go through his publicist for approval.
