Today’s Top Nintendo Direct Takeaways

The recent Nintendo Direct is creating a lot of buzz, here are some key announcements from Nintendo’s latest presentation:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles will be remade for Switch. It will be released in 2020.
  • Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, crossover JRPG between Fire Emblem and Shin Megami Tensei, will also be ported to Switch on Jan. 17, 2020.
  • As reported earlier, Overwatch will arrive on Switch next month, October 15th.
  • Pokémon developer Game Freak’s newest game called Town will also be released next month, October 16th.
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is going to receive a lot of new updates and DLC. Banjo-Kazooie is playable as of today, while the next fighter, Terry Bogard (from the Neo Geo title Fatal Fury) is expected to be available in November. Nintendo confirmed they are working on future DLC fighters as well.
  • Nintendo Switch Online will now feature 20 SNES titles, such as Super Mario World, Yoshi’s Island, Star Fox, Kirby’s Dream Course, with more to come in future updates.
  • Stunt Race FX will be part of those initial 20 SNES titles, and it will be the first time the game has been available outside of its original release on the SNES.
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons will feature local four-person multiplayer and online eight-person multiplayer.
  • A free-to-start multiplayer Kirby game titled Super Kirby Clash is available now.
  • A slew of teasers and minor updates for anticipated titles such as Luigi’s Mansion 3, Trials of Mana, Mario and Sonic at the Tokyo Olympics Games Tokyo 2020, and Pokémon Sword/Shield just to name a few.
