Pokémon is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, and the series’ longevity is no mistake. Every game is chock-full of easter eggs and secrets that keep fans coming back for more.

The latest mainline entry in the series, Pokémon Sword and Shield, is no exception. Despite being released over two years ago, players have just recently discovered a secret within the game that’s been hidden in plain sight this whole time.

Reddit user Quirky_Image appears to be the first person to have noticed that pressing the left stick (L3) down while checking out the summary of a Pokémon on its stat screen will trigger a special animation. Developer GameFreak went the extra mile, too – every single Pokémon in the game gets its own unique animation for this feature.

One can only wonder what other secrets have yet to be uncovered in Sword and Shield, let alone what new secrets await to be found in not only the upcoming Diamond and Pearl remakes, but Pokémon Legends: Arceus as well.
