After decades of delighting (and terrifying) audiences around the world, Godzilla will finally be taking his thrills outside of the cinema and into an amusement park this year.
The popular Kaiju will star in his first permanent ride which will launch at Seibuen Amusement Park in Japan.
The ride will debut during the park’s grand reopening next month and is called Godzilla the Ride: DaiKaiju Choujo Kessen (Translation: A Decisive Battle of Great Monsters).
It’s reportedly going to be a dark ride that takes guests on a tour amidst a battle between Godzilla, King Ghidorah, and other familiar monsters from the series.

While Godzilla has been featured in temporary attractions and smaller-scaled projects like a Shin Godzilla zip line that opened in Tokyo last year, this marks the first time the big guy will get his own permanently installed ride devoted entirely to him.

Coming off the heels of the financial and critical success of Godzilla vs. Kong, the new ride is sure to attract a lot of old and new fans alike.
Although the upcoming Godzilla ride at Seibuen Amusement Park isn’t as massive in scale as something like the royal treatment Mario received over at Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan, it looks like it’s shaping up to be respectable in its own right.
